ROMANCE RELATIONSHIPS & THE HOLIDAYS

Thirty years of doing readings have enabled me to observe many repetitive patterns in life.  A couple of these have to do with the effects of the Holiday Season on relatively new romantic relationships.  If it’s your first Holiday Season with your honey, keep in mind his/her feelings about this time of year may be very different from yours.  Very often one person loves the Season feeling all warm and fuzzy about it.  The other, due to past experiences and/or upbringing and family dynamics in childhood, has negative feelings about it.  This could be depression, a desire to ignore the whole thing or even some hostility and anger.  Getting through your first Holiday Season together may require a lot of understanding, communication and compromises.

I also recommend my single clients be very cautious about entering into any new romances at this time of year.  Many people feel particularly lonely and want someone to spend the Holidays with.  In short, many people enter new relationships for all the wrong reasons.  Every year many clients ask about new relationships they’re entering in November and December.  Around late January and February, they’re asking me about major difficulties in this same relationship or about the break-up and why it happened.
